Carving her path | Anjali Patil in 'Selvi'

It was 2012-13, when Anjali Patil was basking in the adulation and accolades that came for her work in Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh and Telugu film Naa Bangaaru Talli. “I was smitten that I am going to be a star,” she says. “Instead, I fell flat on my face. Most films which would come to me seemed illogical.” It would take nearly a decade for her to realise that she’d have to take charge of her own narrative and create the opportunities she wanted. Five years back, Patil set up Anahat Films. After producing a documentary (Neither Girl Nor a Woman), shorts and two features, Patil produces and stars in Tamil drama Selvi, which will have its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in October.
