How fuel-efficient is the Nissan Tekton? Here's the claimed mileage of the SUV
The Nissan Tekton's 1.0-litre turbo-petrol manual is the most fuel-efficient version in the range, while the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine returns up to 18.5kmpl.

Nissan Motor India has revealed the claimed fuel efficiency figures for the newly launched Tekton, with the mid-size SUV delivering up to 19.4kmpl depending on the powertrain. Launched at an introductory price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tekton marks Nissan's return to India's highly competitive mid-size SUV segment and rivals the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
The Tekton is offered with two turbo-petrol engine options. The entry-level variants are powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 100bhp and 166Nm of peak torque. Mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, this version delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.4kmpl, making it the most efficient variant in the lineup.
Higher trims get a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that develops 163bhp and 280Nm of peak torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic (DCT).
The 1.3-litre turbo-petrol manual returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.8kmpl, while the DCT automatic is rated at 18.5kmpl, making it more efficient than the manual despite offering the convenience of an automatic gearbox.
| Powertrain | Power and torque | Claimed fuel efficiency |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 Turbo MT | 100bhp, 166Nm | 19.4kmpl |
| 1.3 Turbo MT | 163bhp, 280Nm | 17.8kmpl |
| 1.3 Turbo DCT | 163bhp, 280Nm | 18.5kmpl |
The Tekton adopts a rugged design inspired by Nissan's flagship Patrol, featuring a broad chrome grille, connected C-shaped LED daytime running lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, hidden rear door handles and full-width LED tail lamps. It measures 4,348mm in length, 1,815mm in width and 1,674mm in height, with a 2,657mm wheelbase and 212mm ground clearance.
Inside, the SUV gets a premium cabin with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery and a dual-tone rose gold and burgundy interior theme on the top variant. Features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, wireless phone charging and a powered tailgate.
