ZEE5 announces series on NEET paper leak amid students' protest at Jantar Mantar
An OTT series titled The Scam: Leaked has been announced as protests over examination irregularities widen. Its teaser arrives amid student unrest, celebrity support and calls for education reforms.
An OTT series on the exam paper leak controversy has been announced as protests over examination irregularities continue to spread from Jantar Mantar to other parts of the country. Titled The Scam: Leaked, the series has been positioned against the backdrop of the ongoing agitation over the examination system.
On Wednesday, the makers released a teaser on social media and wrote, "One paper. Millions of dreams. One leak. A nation in disbelief (sic)." The post also said, "The Scam: Leaked, Coming Soon on Zee 5 (sic)." The release date has not been announced yet.
The teaser shows exam papers being printed under strict vigilance. They are then sealed with a confidential tag and packed into cartons. Before the cartons are loaded onto a vehicle, one paper reaches a miscreant, who clicks a picture of the question paper and leaks it.
The video then moves to media coverage, student reactions and empty classrooms. It ends with the visual of a student dying by suicide.

What began as an online campaign has turned into a sustained demonstration at Jantar Mantar, led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). Students have continued to seek reforms in the examination system, accountability for the irregularities and a direct response from the government.
The agitation drew wider national attention after education reformer Sonam Wangchuk joined the protest and began an indefinite hunger strike in solidarity with the students. He repeatedly called for peaceful demonstrations and urged the government to engage with the students instead of ignoring their concerns.
As his health deteriorated, Delhi Police shifted him to a hospital, prompting anger among protesters. CJP leaders accused the authorities of cracking down on a peaceful movement and called for round-the-clock vigils at Jantar Mantar. His wife, Gitanjali Angmo, also remained involved in the demonstrations.
The protest intensified further after the CJP gave a Sansad Chalo call and protesters attempted to march towards Parliament during the Monsoon Session. The demonstrations saw clashes with police, allegations of lathi-charge and detentions, with both protesters and police personnel reporting injuries. Images and videos from Delhi then spread rapidly on social media and pushed the protest into the national spotlight.
Opposition, including Congress, have maintained sustained pressure on the government to take corrective measures.

In an Instagram post, he wrote, "When young people feel unheard, it is a reminder that society must listen. Every voice deserves to be heard with dignity, fairness and respect. At the same time, peace must remain our greatest strength. Violence, from any side, only deepens wounds and takes us further away from meaningful solutions. This is a moment for dialogue and compassion (sic)."
Support for the students has also come from other celebrities. Shabana Azmi and Prakash Raj visited the protest site in Delhi and were among the celebrities present on the ground. Others, including Sonu Sood, Vir Das, Dia Mirza, Soha Ali Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi, Nandita Das, Aayush Sharma,Preity Zinta and screenwriter Sutapa Sikdar, extended support online.
