Family members began searching for Kaushal after he went missing before the wedding rituals. His body was later discovered hanging from a tree.

According to Kaushal's son, Suraj, his father had been under severe mental stress over the wedding expenses.

He said Kaushal had borrowed money to arrange the marriage and had been deeply worried in the days leading up to the ceremony.

"My father was very disturbed because of my sister's wedding. He had taken loans from several people. I work outside the village and had also contributed significantly towards the marriage expenses," Suraj told police.

Villagers said nearly Rs 5 lakh had been spent on the wedding. Kaushal, who earned a living making wooden furniture, struggled to arrange the money and had taken loans to meet the expenses.

A senior police officer said the matter is being investigated and that there was no information of dowry demands from the groom's side.
