Lenin box office Day 2: Akhil Akkineni film sees growth, earns Rs 23 crore globally

Actor Akhil Akkineni's Lenin recorded a strong jump in collections on its second day in theatres. Rising occupancy and steady overseas numbers underlined solid opening weekend traction.

Actor Akhil Akkineni's Lenin witnessed healthy growth at the box office on its second day, building on its positive opening. The Telugu action drama registered a noticeable jump in collections on Saturday, indicating strong audience traction over its opening weekend.

According to early estimates by trade website Sacnilk, Lenin collected Rs 8.15 crore nett in India on Day 2, marking a 14 per cent increase over its opening-day earnings of Rs 7.15 crore nett. The film earned this collection across 2,099 shows nationwide, taking its two-day domestic total to an estimated Rs 15.30 crore nett.

The film also performed steadily in overseas markets, collecting an estimated Rs 2.50 crore gross on Saturday. With this, its overseas total has reached Rs 5.80 crore gross. Meanwhile, the India gross collection stands at an estimated Rs 17.60 crore, taking Lenin's worldwide gross to approximately Rs 23.40 crore after two days in theatres.

The film also recorded strong occupancy throughout Saturday, particularly during the evening and night shows. According to Sacnilk, the Telugu 2D version registered an overall occupancy of 60.27 per cent on Day 2, after opening with 39 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, reflecting a steady rise in footfalls as the day progressed.

The film witnessed a steady rise in footfall as the day progressed. Afternoon shows recorded an occupancy of 64.31 per cent, while the evening shows maintained healthy attendance with 55.92 per cent occupancy. The highest turnout came during the night shows, which registered an impressive 73.75 per cent occupancy.

The Telugu EPIQ version, meanwhile, recorded an overall occupancy of 7.40 per cent on Saturday.

According to the state-wise gross collection report, Lenin earned an estimated Rs 8 crore gross from the Telugu states on Day 2. Karnataka contributed Rs 1.10 crore, while Tamil Nadu added Rs 13 lakh. The rest of India accounted for an additional Rs 15 lakh, taking the film's total Day 2 gross collection across all territories to an estimated Rs 9.38 crore.

Written and directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, Lenin also features Sivaji, Brahmaji, Easwari Rao and Sunil. The film has music by Thaman, editing by Navin Nooli and cinematography by Leon Britto.

Lenin, theatrically released on July 10.
