Mumbai woman teaches child to throw trash from train, passenger films 'shameless act'
A passenger filmed a woman telling a child to throw a wrapper out of a moving Mumbai local train. The video triggered outrage online.

A video of a woman encouraging a young child to throw a wrapper out of the window of a moving Mumbai local train has triggered massive outrage on social media.
The short clip showed the woman folding a wrapper, handing it to the child, and gesturing for him to throw it outside the window of the train. The child then tossed the wrapper out as instructed.
"Teaching her son how to throw garbage from the local train. Tried to stop her, but the lady said, 'Train aapki property hai kya (Is the train your property)?’ Shameless act,” read the caption of the video post that has gone viral on social media.
The internet was furious after watching the video, with many arguing that irresponsible parenting was at the heart of the problem. Many said that parenting was not for everyone, suggesting that such behaviour reflected a failure to instill basic civic values.
Several users supported recording and sharing the incident, saying public shaming on the internet could discourage such behaviour. They argued that exposing such acts online was one of the few ways to hold people accountable.
Others criticised what they described as the woman's dismissive attitude. Referring to the remark, "Ek wrapper se kuch nahi hota (One wrapper doesn't make a difference),” a user reiterated that if hundreds of people adopted the same mindset, the cumulative impact would be far more damaging.
Many also pointed out the contradiction in teaching a child to litter while later complaining about public cleanliness. One user said such people were often the first to blame authorities for poor sanitation despite contributing to the problem themselves.
Some called for authorities to take action, expressing hope that the video would help identify the woman and lead to a hefty fine for littering.
