Bank holidays in August 2026: Check the full statewide RBI holiday list

Banks across India will remain closed for up to eight days in different states during August 2026 due to regional festivals, national holidays, and observances notified by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Apart from these state-specific holidays, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks will also remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays, as well as all Sundays.

Since bank holidays differ from state to state, customers are advised to check the holiday calendar applicable to their city before visiting a branch. Online banking, mobile banking, UPI, ATMs, and digital payment services will continue to function during these holidays.

Yes. While physical bank branches will remain closed on notified holidays, customers can continue using internet banking, mobile banking, UPI, ATMs, cash deposit machines, and other digital banking services. However, services requiring branch visits, such as cheque clearing, document verification, account opening, or locker operations, may be affected and should be planned accordingly.
