Supreme Court dismisses plea against renovation of Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat
The Supreme Court dismissed a plea challenging the CRZ clearance for renovation work at Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat. The order leaves the NGT ruling untouched and keeps approval for the proposed two additional floors in place.

Actor Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri Khan have received a major legal relief after the Supreme Court dismissed a petition challenging the renovation of their Mumbai home, Mannat. The verdict clears the way for the planned makeover of the iconic Bandra bungalow, including the addition of two residential floors.
The petition had challenged the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance granted for the project, arguing that the approval violated environmental rules. It was filed by Mumbai-based activist Santosh Daundkar, who had earlier approached the National Green Tribunal (NGT). However, the tribunal had rejected his plea in September 2025.
On Tuesday, a Supreme Court Bench comprising Justices Surya Kant, Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohan dismissed Daundkar's appeal, refusing to overturn the NGT's decision. The court also expressed doubts about the credibility of the petition.
With the Supreme Court refusing to intervene, the CRZ clearance granted for the renovation remains valid, allowing the Khans to proceed with the proposed expansion of Mannat.
Mannat, one of Mumbai's most recognisable celebrity homes, has long been a landmark for Shah Rukh Khan's fans. Every year on his birthday, thousands gather outside the Bandra bungalow to catch a glimpse of the actor as he steps onto the balcony to greet them, making it one of Bollywood's most enduring fan traditions.
On the film front, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen next in Siddharth Anand's King.
